The Dog behind the Doctor

I graduated from Colorado State University in 1998. I was inducted into the veterinary academic honor society Phi Zeta. I have worked in general practice and emergency practice.
While in college, I decided I needed a companion. I happened along a Schnauzer puppy in desperate need of saving. I took her home and named her Jules. I instantly fell in love with her. At the time, I was embarking upon the road to medical school---the entrance exams, applications, etc. I was going to be a doctor.
Over the course of the next few months, however, I found myself feeling I needed to be able to provide answers to all the questions I had about my dog, Jules. I took her to the vet for any little thing.
The prime example is when I was convinced she had cancer at the ripe old age of 4 months old because she had a lump on her belly that I was sure was growing at a rapid rate--turns out to be her belly button...how was I to know---from that moment on partly out of embarrassment for myself and mostly out of concern for Jules I decided to become a vet. That way I would know what to do for her in any situation. Thus I embarked upon my journey to become a veterinarian. Jules changed my life. She is why I became a veterinarian. I knew if I ever opened a hospital, I would name it after her without a doubt.
So visit me at the Jules Veterinary Center, and we will do everything we can to make sure your pet can be a long-lived companion, and provide you with highest level of care.
